Summary: Works Great 2009-08-05
Comment: This is a great product. A friend was looking in stores for it. I found it here and got 1 for me too. Nothing goes down the drain anymore. The thicker rim prevents it from moving when water is on. Great price also. Easy to clean and even goes in dishwasher.

Summary: Looks and Works Great 2009-06-16
Comment: This strainer works well to strain small particles from going down the drain. It looks nice and lays down well enough to work effectively. My only issue was with the cost of shipping. Almost 3X the cost of the product.

Summary: I've been using a similar replacement sink strainer 2008-12-26
Comment: I purchased mine from a specialty (kitchen/chef) store in the mall. It's not a Sinkware 5049, but an RPI 5049, so I'm going out on a limb here and assuming they're similar. Mine has a sticker price of $2.99.
I've had problems for years with clogs in the kitchen drain. The standard sink strainers have holes that are too large and bigger pieces simply make it down the drain and clog it, so you basically need a snake to clean it, which not everybody has, naturally. Since I've been using this strainer, I haven't had any clogs at all. I'd say I've had it for probably 2 years now. Well, the only clogging I get is when the strainer gets full of gunk, which is quite often, being it's screen with small holes. Sometimes water will begin to back up into the sink. There's a few ways around unclogging; either let the water seep down on it's (I don't have the patience for that), loosen it up with a spoon (to be removed after the water has left) or scoop out whatever's in the strainer with a spoon into say, a paper towel standing by. I recently went back to my same store and purchased 2 more, even though I don't need replacements yet. I'd much rather have them on stand by, if I ever do need them.
