I purchased this sink for a client who needed to replace a shallow vessel sink that, if full, would hold perhaps a 1/2 gallon of water. They were using it as the primary lavatory in a studio condo. Needless to say, the original was hardly capable. The dimensions are for the overall outside lip, so your cutout will be smaller. You can mount this sink either as a self rimming (drop in) or undermount. Accordingly, there are no anchors or clips to install the sink, so make sure you purchase some adhesive caulk and/or make sure your countertop already has studs epoxied or screwed to the underside (in the event of an undermount install). I installed this sink as a drop in, thus used adhesive caulk. I used my plumbing tool box as ballast until the caulk set and continued with the drain hool up. The drain hole uses a bar sink type drain, but a lav drain will work, although some rubber washers that accompany lav drains may be too small to seat properly.
