Herbeau Creations of Lille France - a manufacturer of superbly crafted authentic French Provincial faucetry since 1857 - offers this dual bowl Fireclay Farmhouse Kitchen Sink. This sink can be undermounted provided that a support structure able to withstand 210 lbs. of weight is used. Fireclay is a variation of vitreous china that has greater amounts of quartz and feldspar in the clay material. It is denser thicker and approximately 30 percent heavier than regular clay. These characteristics allow for a durable smooth flat surface on large fixtures not attainable with standard vitreous china. Not recommended for installation with a laminate countertop.
