American Standard 4275.551.002 Colony Soft Double-Handle Kitchen Faucet with Bra

This is a brand name item. Quality is good. Finish is good. Shipping was excellent. But, I have a tankless LP gas instantaneouos water heater. The hot water heater works by both water pressure and water flow. This kitchen faucet does not provide the flow rate to keep my hot water heater going. Turning on hot faucet, I do get hot water but the flow rate is not enough to keep my tankless water heater going - so the hot faucet goes cold. This DOES NOT apply to anyone with other types of hot water heaters. If you have a tank type water heater you will be fine. I replaced my kitchen sink and my kitchen faucet. My previous kitchen faucet was a Price Pfister and that worked perfectly all the time with endless hot water. The only reason I replaced the sink and faucet was that they were just worn and scratched with age and use. I purchased this item through Amazon in March 2010, started using it in Sept. 2010, as we moved into a new home...well, I am very upset to say that my hot water handle blew off and flooded my kitchen. No warning....turned the water on, and immediately, the handle flew off into the sink and water started spewing everywhere. What a mess..........very upsetting that we only got usage for 1 year. I paid a lot for this item and expected it to last much longer than this. Hopefully, since I purchased it through Amazon, they will help me out with an exchange. We will see...

Cold water handle just broke off and water came shooting out in our kitchen - just bought an installed about a year ago, and I would hate to think the "American Standard" has sunk this low. I would definitely not recommend this product to anyone else. The faucet worked fine while it was in daily operation, it looked nice and was easy to keep clean, but the handle breaking off within one year of operation? A poorly engineered product indeed.
